A 12V DC solenoid for point and signal operation. Although sold as a solenoid, no return spring is included, so the unit is best used as a electromagnet. Add a piece of iron wire to the point or signal operating wire so it is attracted by the electromagnet, and use a spring or gravity for movement back once the current is cut off.

The solenoid is continuously rated at 12V, so a simple latching SPST switch can be used for operation.

The actual size of the solenoid (plunger retracted) is 40mm tall x 16mm wide x 14mm deep (excluding terminals). The fixing holes are tapped M2.5; two fixing screws are included.
