This whitemetal casting represents the earlier Saxby & Farmer square signal lamp case. Dimensions are approximately 8½mm high x 6mm wide across the lenses.

This pattern of lamp was used on rotating signals (including ground signals and point indicators) whereby movement of the signal through 90° caused the lamp's side aspect (facing in the drawing) to be displayed.
