This whitemetal casting represents the later cast iron Stevens & Co. signal post finial. Dimensions are approximately 8½mm high x 3mm wide.

The finial was usually found on top of a lattice post or doll, and was used by the London & South Western, Somerset & Dorset, Barry, and Hull & Barnsley railway companies, together with some parts of the Great Central. It was also used by the Southern Railway and BR's Southern Region.
